Interpreting
I obtained a Level 3 Community Interpreter qualification in May 2025 after deciding to diversify and leverage my experience in translation to offer interpreting services as well. Having worked in multilingual environments for many years and being led to interpret informally in an extensive variety of situations, it seemed a logical choice to make. The course with DPSI Online offered an extensive view of the profession. It is an entry-level qualification that enables me to offer interpreting services in the community, whether face-to-face, over the phone or via video link. Since then I have been consistently working towards obtaining the Level 6 Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) which will enable me to work at higher levels such as with the Police, courts and HM Government. I am also a member of the Association of Community Interpreters, ACIS.
